Intensive Non-Surgical Disc Rehabilitation

6-Week Non-Surgical Disc Rehabilitation Program — $2,400.

This is a program-based fee rather than a fee for individual visits or procedures.

Your evaluation determines whether you are an appropriate candidate for care. If you are not a candidate, I will tell you.

The purpose of the examination is to determine what is wrong and whether I can help — not to pressure you into buying treatment.

What is Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a controlled form of mechanical traction designed to alter loading and mechanical forces through the spine.

It may be used as part of a treatment program for patients with conditions such as:

  • Disc herniation
  • Disc bulging
  • Disc-related back or neck pain
  • Sciatica and radiating leg pain
  • Cervical radicular symptoms
  • Chronic spinal pain associated with disc injury
  • Certain degenerative disc conditions

But decompression is not the diagnosis and it is not automatically the right treatment for everyone.

The important question is whether decompression makes sense for your particular problem.

I Don't Treat MRI Images. I Treat Patients

An MRI can show a disc bulge, herniation, degeneration, stenosis, or other structural changes.

But an image doesn’t tell the entire clinical story.

My examination looks at the relationship between your symptoms, neurological function, movement, mechanical behavior, and the structural findings on your imaging.

The goal is to determine whether the findings actually correlate with your clinical presentation.

That’s why your evaluation comes first.

If your presentation suggests that non-surgical disc rehabilitation is appropriate, I’ll explain why.

If I don’t believe decompression is appropriate for you, I’ll tell you that too.

Your Care Is Built Around the Program -- Not the Machine

Many decompression programs are built around selling a predetermined number of visits.

That’s not how I approach complex spinal cases.

I don’t want you coming into the office simply because you have another treatment remaining on a package.

Your treatment is based on your diagnosis, your response to care, and what your case requires.

Spinal decompression may be combined with other appropriate neuromusculoskeletal procedures and rehabilitation strategies when clinically indicated.

The treatment is individualized. The machine is simply one tool.

Who May Be a Candidate?

Non-surgical disc rehabilitation may be appropriate for patients experiencing:

  • Persistent low-back or neck pain
  • Pain radiating into an arm or leg
  • Sciatica
  • Disc herniation or bulging diagnosed on MRI
  • Pain that has not responded adequately to previous conservative care
  • Mechanical spinal pain associated with disc injury
  • Patients seeking a non-surgical option before considering more invasive treatment

However, having a disc problem does not automatically make you a candidate.

Your examination is what determines whether this approach makes sense for you.

What Happens at Your Evaluation?

Your first visit is not a sales consultation.

It is a neuromusculoskeletal evaluation.

I will review your history, symptoms, prior treatment, imaging when available, and perform a comprehensive clinical examination to determine what is contributing to your problem.

The objective is to answer three questions:

1. What is actually causing your symptoms?

2. Is the problem appropriate for non-surgical care?

3. If so, what approach gives you the best opportunity for improvement?

If I believe you are a candidate for an intensive rehabilitation program, I’ll explain the recommendation and the case fee.

If I don’t think I can help you, I’ll tell you.

Intensive Non-Surgical Disc Rehabilitation

6-Week Program — $2,400

The evaluation is $200. If you’re determined to be a candidate, the 6-week program is $2,400. If you aren’t a candidate—or decide not to proceed—you owe nothing beyond the evaluation.

The six-week period establishes the treatment window. It isn’t an unlimited-treatment promise, and it isn’t a package of arbitrary visits. Treatment frequency is determined by your clinical needs and response to care.

At the end of the six weeks, we evaluate your progress and determine the appropriate next step.

Orthopedic decompression is most effective when treatment is customized to the individual patient and their specific spinal condition. The Anatomy of Herniated Discs

Spinal discs act as the body’s natural shock absorbers, separating each vertebra and allowing the spine to move while cushioning the forces of everyday activities. Each disc has two primary components: a soft, gel-like center called the nucleus pulposus and a strong outer ring called the annulus fibrosus, which is made up of layers of tough fibrocartilage that securely attach to the adjacent vertebrae.

Over time, repetitive stress, injury, poor spinal mechanics, or age-related degeneration can weaken the annulus fibrosus, allowing small tears or fissures to develop. As these defects progress, the gel-like nucleus pulposus can migrate into the damaged areas, causing the disc to bulge or herniate. If the bulging disc compresses or irritates a nearby spinal nerve, it may result in pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, or sciatica radiating into the arms or legs.
